Overview
The mother whale brings her baby calf around for a cup of tea.
This teapot is made with red Taiwanese clay and has a speckled effect. The colour is produced through traditional processes resulting from the reaction of clay minerals when fired in the kiln.
The teapot holds about 125ml – perfect for one or for a test brew. We love it so much that we use it as a decorative piece.
This Marulin teapot comes from Mrs. Li's small teapot factory in Yingge, Taiwan. Yingge, a small city outside of Taipei, was recognised as one of two earliest industrial areas for pottery, according to the literature from the era of the Japanese colonial period.
