ORIGIN
Also known as amber oolong, red water oolong is a type of oolong that is made in a similar fashion as to Dong Ding Oolong.
CULTIVATION AND PROCESSING
Not to be confused with red oolong, red water oolong is not highly oxidised. Slightly baked, it is a partially oxidised oolong that has been baked. The liquor of the tea turns an amber colour. This oolong has been certified organic in Taiwan and was handpicked.
TEA BREWING GUIDE
- To make an optimum tea, we highly recommend the gong fu cha method. Cover the bottom of a clay teapot, which has been designated for oolong, with water and brew the tea at a temperature between 90-95° C for about 1 minute. A first rinse of tea is optional for our teas, as the Department of Health in Taiwan has noted that it is safe to drink teas from Taiwan without rinsing. Each serving can be brewed 6-7 times.
- For a 300 ml mug, place about 3g of tea into an infuser and brew with hot water. Each serving can be brewed 3-4 times. Temp of brewing: 95° C. Time: 6-8 min
