Honey Red Oolong - Handpicked – Winter
ORIGIN
From east of Taiwan, this honey oolong is highly oxidised and slightly baked. Red oolong uses a process that is a cross between making oolong and black tea with a oxidation at about 70-90%.
CULTIVATION AND PROCESSING
The tea plants used to make this tea are grown without pesticides to bio-dynamically encourage the jassid, a type of grasshopper to feed on its leaves, which helps impart a subtle, sweet flavour into the tea.
This tea has a forest honey sweetness with hints of berries.

Why not compare this tea with our Oriental Beauty teas or Alishan Honey Oolong teas? Our grasshopper friend, the jassid, also nibbles on the leaves of these particular teas.
